Why does my cat sound like Chewbacca?

Question

My cat sometimes makes these chewbacca noises-usually in the morning before I let him out, or when he walks around my bed.

Sometimes he does it when he lays down, so I pet him or rub him. I guess it's like a trill.

Curious! (P.S-if anyone knows a link for interpreting cat sounds, let me know!)

it sounds like it's his cry for attention - one of mine makes a sound like she's saying "me-i-i" when she wants something.

Or maybe he's just cross bred with a wookie...

i think your cat may be in heat.

my cat sounds like this too and it happens pretty much once every month. she is a year old and she is in heat. the sound will keep me up at night and last about 2-3 days at a time.

It might be purring or something, some cats make noises when they purr.
