Question:

Why does my cat suck?

I have a 5 month old cat named Mooch.

Named him mooch cause since the first day I brought him home he sucks

on people. Any bare skin he sucks! I thought it was just because he was taken

from his mama but almost six months later he still does it. He kneads his paws

while he is sucking. Seems to me he is just sucking up his own spit so he thinks he's getting

something! LOL

  1. He is still young.  If you want him to stop, discourage the behavior by putting him down when he starts sucking, as otherwise he'll develop a habit of it that could last into most of his adult life.

    What cute pictures!

  2. It may be awhile since he was separated from his mum but that is the reason. Cats separated from their mom too young learn to do this as a self-soothing behavior and it often continues the rest of their lives. The kneading of his paws is due to the same reason, that is what kittens do to their mums tummy when they feed.

  3. he needs a cat therapist.

to me he looks like he bored

    Get him sum toys
