does anyone no why cats do this as my husband asked me i didn`t no the answer always just been something they did never thought bout it when younger with family pets and now i`m curious.

  1. Kittens do it as babies when they are nursing. It helps stimulate the flow of milk in the mother cat while they are feeding so they tend to "knead" while suckling. A kitten might continue to do this as they grow into adults as a sign of contentedness.

  2. its called kneading and kittens do it when they are nursing to get more milk.
