I have a 2 (almost 3) year old Tabby Point. Every now and then when she's sleeping she twitches A LOT. It's more of really big spasms than a twitch. Is this normal?

  1. She's dreaming, my dogs barks and moves her legs around as if she's running, it's normal.

  2. That is perfectly normal, she is dreaming! All of my pets do that! I think it is really cute when they do it!

  3. yeah of course it is normal and cats dream just like we do on e time my cat was asleep and she was twitching and then she opened her eyes and started  chattering her teeth and then she jumpd up i am preety sure she was dreaming about a fly, she chatters her teeth when she is trying to get one...lol

  4. She's having very vivid dreams.  I normally try not to wake them unless they seem very disturbed.  If I do wake them, I do it very gently and am there for support.  As soon as they wake, the look on their face is usually "whew"!!!!!!

    LOL  Silly little creatures....

  5. this just means that she is dreaming my cats used to do this too.

  6. It's probably dreaming of a "watchful" situation -- like watching a bug or other cats in tense situation, or dreaming of a situation where she is nervous.  It's normal.

I, sometimes, wake my cats (by petting them) if I notice them twitching.  Right or wrong, I'm not sure.  But, I want them to know they are in a safe environment.  I always hope I didn't interrupt a dream where they are about to pounce on a bug!

  7. she is dreaming of chasing a dog,and twitching because she finally caught him and stuck her claws in him, makes a change from the dog chasing the cat..

  8. yeah my cat dose it all of the time its so cute cuz hes feet look like hes a rabbit
