I haven't changed the cat food or anything and my 2 year old female cat throws up her dry food every few days. Should I switch foods or what? I'm getting tired of scrubbing cat barf out of my carpet.

  1. maybe you should switch her food to something like science diet. sometimes lesser quality food can upset an animals stomache after a while. she may also have a hair ball. switch her food and if that doesnt work i sould consult your vet.

  2. might have swallowed something she cannot pass.  you should take her to the vet.

  3. do you give her attention?

I had a cat that I used to play with alot and stuff and then I got busy so I didnt pay much attention to her..she started throwing up all her meals and stuff as if she was trying to get my attention.

i started playing with her again..talking to her and stuff and she stopped.

  4. You should probably go see a vet.

  5. My cat did the same thing, on my new carpet....

The vet told me it was Hair Balls and gave me Laxatone that I give her every other day. It's a chocolate colored cream that my cat just l**k on the tip of my finger, a little tiny bit at a time.

My cat still throws up sometimes, but not as often.

I noticed she even wants to throw up because she goes outside, eats some grass, and then comes back home and thows up the grass on my carpet!

  6. I would get an over the counter hairball remedy. You can give her oily sardines once a week to keep her fur balls at a minimum. Grooming and brushing your cat regularly can also help with the fur ball problems she may be having. If things don't improve after doing all the above, then I would take her to the vet to check her kidney's etc. Cats fed only on dry food tend to get kidney problems as they age. Make sure you are feeding her food for the correct age group.

  7. Go see a vet, and ask her... my dog used to throw her food up too, so we changed it, and now she is better

  8. go to a vet

  9. She's probably eating too much too fast. Try limiting her food intake. We had the same problem with our cat when we gave them wet food once a day. She was so happy to get it that she scarfed it down and then threw up. So try limiting her food intake. If this isn't working, I would take her to the vet ASAP because something is definitly up. Best of luck :)

  10. i have a cat that throw ups almost everyday and shes a persian cat too.Is your cat longed haired?what is it throwing up?it might not be the food.maybe shes l*****g herself too much and she can be throwing up hair balls.Maybe u should swich foods. If it gets worse go to the vet and maybe they can give your cat some kind of special food for her.

  11. see a vet because no one can say anything without an examination.

  12. Most likely hair balls.  There are over the counter lubricants that can be given to your cat, but I'd make a visit to the vet just to be on the safe side.
