She is the mean cat of the family so she waits until all of the other cats are gone to eat. When she does eat she eats well not alot but enough.....She usually finishes after about 30 seconds. About 1 hour to 30 minutes later she begins to make gagging noises then she vomits!! I have tried feeding her different food, giving her hairball medicine(Every day), And feeding her less! I'm beginning to think that's she's like..bulimic! She is super skinny!!! Why does she vomit so much!!??

From what you describe it sounds like she has a medical condition which needs veterinary attention.

Cats do not have the same kind of emotional makeup as humans.

If she is vomiting that long after eating, then it is not due to her eating too fast. That kind of eating generates a vomiting reaction within a few minutes of eating.

She may be food allergic. So your veterinarian will have to examine her to be sure. Cat food that contains grain can be a cause of this, and feeding food containing the more popular variety of meat may be the culprit. Chicken, and beef are some of the types of food that are responsible in allergies.

I have a food allergic cat that developed irritable bowel disease. We feed him only venison and peas made by Natural Balance. He gets nothing else, and all of his vomiting has stopped completely. He also gets some medications as well.

So do take your can in for an exam and evaluation. Cats can become dehyrdated from vomiting, Giving hairball medicine daily also may be an additional problem.

    Good luck with your kitty,

  4. She could be eating to fast, therefore her stomach cant take it because its in big chunks. My mum's black cat is always being sick, But its because she eats to fast.

    Feed her, Little but often.

If its does carry on though, You should take her to the vets - It could be something more serious.

  5. maybe she dosnt chew her food that well or maybe sometimes when your not looking she eats her food very fast . hit search yahoo look for cats and read more about them . maybe you will find something . or you can go to your cats vet and ask question to your vet.

  6. um how long has this been going on? she's the mean cat because shes SICK and IN PAIN! Cat's cannot go long without eating (digesting completely) or the enzymes in their liver will kill them. This happened to my cat who was so traumatized by our move that she stopped eating, the vet tried to force feed her but said most of her organs stopped working and we had to put her down. Take her to the vet immediately!

  7. You should definitely take her to the vet ASAP! My cat was sort of in this situation. I took him, and come to find out he had an inflamed small intestine! It's treatable, but you need to catch it before it progresses to something worse!

  8.      When I first read the question my response was hairball, but from the questions addendum you've thought of that already.  I would say that it's vet time.
