It is a Stihl 025. It runs great, But as soon as I tilt it, bar side down, it stalls out.

  1. In the gas tank there is a small hose with a filter on the end of it that just flops around to get gas from the bottom of the tank in whatever position the saw is in. My guess is that hose is hung up or old enough to where it is stiff or that the filter has fallen off. Your local stihl dealer will have a replacement part.

  2. Ron G is correct. Alos usually on the end of the fuel line in the tank the filter is also weighted.  The weighted end tends to keep filter and fuel line in the bottom of the "pool" of fuel.

  3. If it is gas powered, perhaps the fuel is no longer getting to where it needs to be, or it could be a built in safety feature to reduce injuries- it shuts of in positions that are likely to cause damage (remember- the general public does not have a high IQ and there are no shortages of "Amazing Videos" of what people do that make the rest of us go "HUH?"

  4. gas not getting to the carburetor....
