Why does my checking account show $800. more than my balance from statement?

  1. Not certain what you mean.

    Where are you getting the balance that's $800 over what the statement shows?

    If you're looking online,  the online amount could show a deposit that's occurred since the statement was prepared. The online amount could show a correction made by the bank, and the statement could be in error. Or the online amount could be in error.

    I'd presume the lower balance is true until you sit down with somebody at your local branch and figure it out.

  3. I'm guessing you mean when you balance everything versus what the bank says you have.  Well a lot of times if you have a debit card and use it as credit or debit even sometimes then it can take two or three days for the bank to recognize it.

  5. are you looking at the bank website and the statement in the mail at the same time?

    if so, your internet account will be updated almost daily. where as your mail can only be shown every time you get a letter. have you deposited more money recently? have you gotten a pay raise?
