Why does my chest hurt when running?

hey i've been running for a real long time since i do xc. then 2 weeks ago i was running and i felt a sharp pain on the right side of my chest and i couldnt go on no more. so i took 3 days off and when i ran again the right side of my chest started to hurt again. ive been running 3 miles at the exact same pace for weeks. nd its not like a cramp because when i get a cramp i can force myself to go on but when i get this pain on the right side of my chest i cant even move. i went to the doctors and he couldnt find anything. so what is this pain on the right side of my chest.

  2. You need to regulate your breathing. Try to breathe with your nose or in through your nose and out through your mouth. Gasping for air can lead to your problem. Also make sure you are getting plenty of water. Drinking water the day before running is key to getting your body hydrated before you run. Take water with you and take small sips if you feel your mouth getting dry. Don't gulp the water because that will only slosh around inside and make you uncomfortable. On long runs I take a small pack of salt and eat it to help prevent cramping. Wash it down with water.
