  1. i dont really think it is very normal but that is sooo funny!! i would love to have your cockateil for mine. mine is really loud and tries to show off for all of the men that come to our house and he is the guy. but i guess my bird is just so used to girls he loves to see men!!! (sorry that really doesnt answer your question) maybe he just likes the color or somethign of it???

  2. Mine does 2! Alough he does to everything we put infront of him. I think this means he wants the thing infront of him to get away, or maybe he is prasing it lol!

Interesting to find out my bird has the same problem as yours!

    Love me x

  3. I had a cockatiel who loved towels and socks!  And he would do the wolf whistle if you took off your shirt around him or stepped out of the shower.

I believe it is habits formed when young.  Certain items remind them of babyhood and good things.  Maybe whoever fed him always had a paper towel, or used a towel to hold and cuddle him.  We may never know.

I asked at the pet store about towels and my bird and they said, "Towels are used to train them not to bite."  They may have trained him not to bite the towel, but he occasionally took a chunk out of me!  And he loved for me to have on warm, fuzzy socks and put me feet up.  He'd sit on my toes and just visit with the socks like they were old buddies.  I'd wiggle my toes and he'd be so pleased, like his 'friend' had answered him.  It was entertaining, to say the least.

So normal?  I don't know.  It happens though, and it is harmless fun.

    Live well and do good.
