Why does my commode flush by itself when i,m showering also water runs inthe bowl all the time my land lord?

  1. the kit to replace this  toilet inside is about 6 or 7 dollars called a fluyid master ask the folkes atr home depot dont call a plumber yet ask first . or take the flat rubber seal oof in the tak that blocks the hole in the bottom dry it with a paper towel or two now smear  vasiline petroleum jelly all over it replace it in the toilet now that should work for about two or three months to stop the drip that makes the water level go down . but a new one turn off the water thetn take the rubber seal down to depot and replace for what 2 dollars also the clorine thousand flushes in the tak ate the old one if its in there OK.,

  6. Sounds like the flapper valve, located in the tank, has failed.  It will cause your water to run constantly.  I've never experienced it inducing a flush.  If it did, then the valve is working well enough to fill the tank, and then leaks all of a sudden and profusely.

    Better call a plumber.

  7. pete0518 is right---if its flushing by itself, then something isn't vented right or is clogged
