It's 2 years old and I have never had this problem ubtil recently. My desktop becomes very slow, non-responsive and then freezes. Interestingly, the mouse pointer can be moved, but it can't click or open anything. I did everything, disk clean-up, disk error check, virus scan (kaspersky) , spy/adware scan (webroot), disk defragmantation, msconfig and unchecked all unnecessary start up items. I even opened up the casing and dusted out inside. My computer specs: AMD 2.0 GHz dual core, Windows xp media center, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB hard disk with 97 GB free space, Nvidia graphics 256 MB.

When it tends to freeze: 1. Double clicking any program, 2. Maximizing an online video, 3. Double clicking on my computer etc. Or sometimes just after start up.

PLEASE help me out, any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks!
