Why does my computer monitor and radio buzz when my phone rings?

I'm sure you have all had this problem. Or maybe it's just specific to my phone carrier, I'm not sure. Anywho, I can always tell when my phone is about to ring because my computer monitor or radio (whichever my phone is close to @ the time) starts buzzing. Sometimes it just starts buzzing, but my phone doesn't even RING?

What causes this?

  1. The radio frequencies emitting from your phone are just interfering with the other devices. It's common and it's nothing to worry about. Just move your phone away from other electronics.

  2. You are experiencing EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference).  Your cell phone is a transmitter.  The cell phone transmissons are getting into your computer and radio.  Your computer and radio are amplifying the cell phone tranmissions and you hear them as noise.  It is totally normal, just move your cell phone.

  3. yea, it's kind of strange, this used to happen a lot back in high school. I think it has something to do with the frequencies.

  4. radio waves can interfere with electronics around the phone; it's nothing to worry about.

  5. oh, i hate that, it's just basically the radio waves interfering with the rdio when they go to your phone, or other people's phone, but your monitor, you're just unlucky, it must get messed with by that as well

  6. let me guess, if in the US either A.T.& T or t-Mobile?

GSM sends out sigals occasionally and usually will right before a call basically saying hey here I am and this is what you hear on the speakers
