  1. She's either getting them because someone else at school has them and keeps passing them around, or because you haven't eliminated them from your home 100%.

Make sure to take any fabric or cloth that she comes in contact with and wash in HOT water (or dry clean)--all clothes, bedding, furniture, stuffed animals, etc.  Iron mattresses and upholstered furniture.  Put all dolls and stuffed animals into airight bags, and keep them there for two weeks or more (put them in the freezer if you can).  Vacuum thoroughly.  Make sure her hair is cleaned with Rid or another lice shampoo and combed thoroughly for nits, and use the fine tooth comb for two weeks after the Rid treatment.  Instruct her not to share combs, brushes, or clothing with her classmates.

Go to her classroom and look around for any potential problem spots.  When I was in elementary school, there was a head lice outbreak in the second grade classes, and one of the modes of transmission was the "Dress-Up" area, where there were all kinds of hats, helmets, and feather boas.  It was a havenfor head lice, who just had to lie in wait until the next host came along.  See if there are any problem areas in your child's classroom, and if you see any areas for concern., talk to a teacher.

  2. notify the school. most likely another child has thema dn is not treating them properly.

  3. i can only think of 3 things why lice keeps re-occurring. 1.) the medication isn't being applied properly, (for example, not long enough, not deep enough for her hair length, etc...),or 2.) she's around a lot of kids who haven't been treated, or 3.) the proper "clean up procedure hasn't been followed ( the sheets, pillow covers, blankets, hats, cushions on the couch, etc.... need to be cleaned properly as well). i hope that helps.

  4. My nephew was in a preschool & would always come home w/ his 'new friends'. We would wash his hair w/ tea tree oil & it seemed to work, haven't had an issue since.

  5. Put about 3 drops of tea tree oil in her shampoo and use this about every 3 days.

The stuff smells STRONG but it is the ONLY thing I have found that works.

Not only does it kill the lice, it KEEPS THEM AWAY.

  6. maybe she uses someone items at school that has lices? or idk..maybe its one of her friends..that she gets it from or check her environment

  7. You have to get rid of ALL of the eggs, not just in her hair but on EVERYTHING.  Sheets and pillow cases need to be washed in hot water, any toys she plays with, especially stuffed animals should be cleaned.  All combs and brushes and hair ties, ribbons she uses need to be cleaned and disinfected.

  8. Complain to the school. If you know you are treating it properly. Some one in her class isnt having theirs treated and keeps giving it back to her. There is a girl in my daughters class with really bad lice and her mother wont treat it. At my daughters school they send the kids home everytime they spot lice in someones hair. This is my daughters second year at school and touch wood we havent had it yet. I put her hair in a ponytail everyday and laquer it with hairspray, I swear it repels them.

  9. I agree with ANDY. Also I had  something like this happen with one my of kids.. She came home from school I treated all my kids went through did the house DONT FORGET THE CAR.  I did the combing through every day it was a 4day weekend. Not a dang thing them 4 days she went back to school and came home as soon as she got in the door I combed through and there was 2 live ones.. treated her again.. spent 4 hours combing and found nothing. nothing in the morning. she went to school the next day and came home with another live one. after doing this for a week.. I went to the school talked with the nurse it had to be something coming from the class room. and I already spent $300+ on cleaning her hair and the house. They told me due to privcy acts they are not allowed to pull head checks on the kids at school anymore. I was so mad and told them If my kids did not come home and tell me the classes were being pulled for head checks I would call the new station this was not fair to us that give a **** about our kids. so my child came home and said they did do head checks and there was 8 kids in her class sent home later that afternoon.

  10. mabey someone at school has them.get the teachers to send out a headlice note so other parents will check.this kept happening to my daughter.buy a lice comb and comb through her hair every three days with loads of conditioner on.you can also buy a lice repellant to spray in their hair but it depends how old she is bacause if the other kids are older and no the smell she may get picked on.but really the thing that got rid of my daughters was conditioner and a comb every 3 days for about 2 weeks.hope this helps.

  11. Maybe she is sharing combs hats etc with the other childeren. And are you making sure that all of the eggs and bugs are gone too?

  12. did you wash her bookbag and or lunchbox theses are a few things sometimes we as moms don't think of ,among every thing else. also remember the car.I heard a story of a cab driver who's kids kept getting them and they cleaned every thing and a customer called come to find out it was from his cab. maybe the school bus.most flea sprays will kill lice on carpet and furniture.

  13. Mabye you need to get all the eggs out. If she has fair hair, this is a problem. She might sit next to someone who has lice at school. I find hairspray is a good repellant.

  14. Everyone in your household and the daycare must be treated.

    1. Wash the hair and use the fine comb that comes with the "kit".

    2.  Take all of her stuffed toys and place them in a plastic bag, spray inside the bag with the special anti-lice spray, close the bag and leave it closed for one week.

    3.  Wash all of her bedding [and all the bedding in the home]with bleach and wash her clothing with as .

    4. Also treat the mattresses and the stuffed furniture in the home.

    5.  Instruct the child not to share brushes, hats, kerchiefs, hair clips, etc. with anyone else in school, or on the bus.

    6.  Keeps accurate notes of what you've done and give a copy of that to her teacher and the school nurse.  Ask them for help to see who your child is too chummy with at school.

I have also been told hair spray helps, but cannot guarantee that.
