Why does my desktop background doesn't show anything?

I have pc and all the time when I want to change the background it's doesn't show anything. The plain white colour appears all the time and I can change only colours of my background but can't include there any my photos or just other photos. Even jpg, bmp and other pictures don't show.

What do I do?

you might have added a web item to your desktop.. top get your default background..

right click on desktop>properties>desktop>customize desktop>web>and uncheck the boxes which are present there...

then click on apply and ok..

then now go to any picture and right click on it and set as desktop background.
