Why does my digital TV signal fluctuate so much?

I get digital tv through a set of rabbit ears on my television. I get a decent signal but it doesn't hold. I can sit and watch the signal strength meter bounce between 0 and 99 in mere seconds. Does anyone know why the digital signal fluctuates so much?

  1. Digital TV reception is not like analog reception. In analog, the signal can fluctuate and you will see 'snow'. In digital, it is either on or off. There is no 'in-between'. That is the nature of digital. Try getting a roof-top antenna. That will work best.

  2. It does that because of interferences with the signal. Or just simply a bad or poor quality set of rabbit ears. Either put it outside away from all possible interferences, or buy a stronger set of rabbit ears.
