1st off my dog is a pit-bull

he is VERY friendly with any and ALL dogs. He loves to play! But he does have an odd way of showing it, he will bark as passing dogs(when we take him for walks) and whine because he wants to go play with them, and because hes a pit-bull and people are like (OMG scared!) we have to always say to him "They don't want to play with you." this does not stop him from whine-in/barking.

My dog also LOVES people! LOVES people and other dogs! Hes not to sure about cats because he went to play with one and it smacked him good in the face. (haha)

Recently we've moved. And the people here seems to be... really freaked out of my dog. and a large amount of the people here don't seem to speak english very clearly. I noticed when trying to introduce my dog to the people around my house the dog would act friendly until they started speaking.

I'm not really sure why this is?

  1. Dogs are very clever. Going back some 30 odd years ago my father's  dog loved me but would bark at me only if I had been smoking (cigarettes) or drinking. Gladly, my father never knew what was going on back then. I still laugh at it. They just know something is different.

Dogs are very clever! I'm not a native English speaker and as take my doggies to the dog park regularly, some dogs give me a blank look as I speak to them. They understand a lot more than we give them credit for and my doggies understand me. They are used to me.

  2. In high school, we had a foreign exchange student from Japan come stay with us. We also had a not-so-friendly chihuahua named Casey. Amazingly enough, she liked Rio (the girl staying with us), right up until Rio called home to Japan to let her parents know she'd made it ok. The instant she started speaking Japanese, Casey started flipping out. All the hair on her back stood straight up, she had tears going, and was trying to bark, growl, and whine all at the same time.

So long as Rio spoke English, Casey wasn't scared, but let her talk in Japanese, and Casey couldn't handle it. I think they just know it sounds different and having not been exposed to it enough, it worries them.

  3. 1st off your dog (breed) just about killed my Dalmatian...  If I ever catch your EVIL dog off the leash your scruffy is out of here!!!

I'm serious, I have never met a "nice" pitbull - they are freaking monsters!!!
