About a month ago, I went on vacation, and put my dog in a kennel. Ever since, she has been biting all of her paws. Is this normal? What could be the reason she is biting her paws? Please help.

  1. same problem with my dog.

the vet told us that it is because she is not being very occupied(bored), or because she is trying to get dirt out of her paws

  2. This is common with allergies, check with your vet for the correct dose but we have to give our Mastiff a few Benadryl it could be food related or in his case grasses..but fleas can also be a source of itching too.

  3. One of the first signs of allergies in many dogs, is excessive l*****g and biting of their paws.  She may be allergic to her food or a certain ingredient in her food, or maybe to environment allergies like grasses, pollen, certain cleaners, etc.

Some dogs also develop a behavioral habit of l*****g their paws, our of anxiety.

Either way, your vet can help you.  Good luck.

  4. Sounds like she got chemicals on her paws.   Give her a good bath and see if it clears up - if not, take her to the Vet to get checked out.

  5. her paws may Itch so take her to the vet because i know of this kennel that never cleaned their floors so the dogs got infected and got fungus

it may be a possibility only

  6. You dog probably has something stuck in her paws. A quick trip to the vet should be good. If you don't want to do that, look at her paws, nails, and hair around her paws. This shouldn't be to serious. Good luck!

  7. She may have picked up a disease on her paws.  My guy is allergic to grass and chews on his feet if I don't give him Benadryl every day.

Check with your vet.  Clean her feet thoroughly every two or three days and see if that helps. Wash around all her pads and rinse well and dry. Be sure to use a mild shampoo not a human shampoo and rub in some antibacterial or anti fungal cream.

  8. Probably a nervous habit like some one that bites and chews off their finger nails

  9. My dog bites his paws to clean them although we take him a shower. Your dog might be cleaning them, might be itchy, bored, or allergic to food

  10. One of my dogs bites her nails and I asked the vet about it and she told me it might just be an obsessive thing like a person that biter their nails. Is this nail biting or actual paw biting? If it is a problem there is a great product out there called "Bitter Yuck" this will keep a dog from eating a fresh steak, I mean this stuff tastes really nasty (yeah, I tasted it). You can even use it on an open cut and it does not harm the dog. Another great thing about it is that it doesn't smell. I get it from Tractor Supply but other pet stores probably sell it too.

  11. Boredom?

    l**k granuloma?

Has she licked or biten them to a point that they're raw?

  12. Causes that can lead a dog to this type of behavior are emotional. Boredom and anxiety are most common. If your dog is chewing his paw or any other area, be sure he has enough food, water, and exercise. Play with your pet and give him his own toys to chew on. Distracting the animal with positive interaction is the best treatment.

  13. My dogs do that. I think my mom said it's just itchy or allergies or something.

  14. this could mean some type of allergies either enviormental or food.
