When ever i lie down on my sofa, and put a cover over me, my dog jumps on me and gets really whiny. Its like she likes lying on the cover, and she wriggles in the cover, and barks really high pitched. She even ends up chewing the cover. Can someone tell me why she does this?

  2. To be safe take him to the vet.  My dog started shaking and acting strange, and the vet told me she had injured her back. So he gave me some meds to give her and recommended  that I get some  Joint Care. She is older than your dog. When in doubt a vet visit is recommended.

  3. Maybe she thinks it's hurting you...?

  4. She wants you 2 coddle her and let her under the covers.

  5. You should maybe...buy her her own blanket?

  6. It sounds like a dominance issue to me.

  7. She either wants to spend time with you and thinks that this blanket is 'hogging you' and hogging your attention, or she thinks it is hurting you/will hurt you. Dogs can be very strange that way.

To cure this, try putting the blanket on the ground with a few pillows under it. If she barks/whines/chews, say 'No!' and hit her gently but firmly on the muzzle. Continue until she no longer barks/whines/chews, if she does. Then lay on the floor with the blanket over you. If she barks/whines/chews, repeat above procedure (Without pillows under, with you under). Then do thesame with just your legs covered on the couch in a sitting position, then eventually a lying position. After she stops her behaviour when you do all of these, bring the blanket farther up your body until just your eyes are not covered. Take her under with you if she wants.
