  1. It could be what you are feeding your dog thats causing the problem. If they dont like their own food, they might eat their p**p. Also, if they are enjoying something in their own food, they might eat their p**p because they can smell it in there and want to eat it. I saw a lady on a TV show on animap planet put pineapple in her dogs food because the smell of the pineapple in their p**p deturs the dog from eating it, and it totally worked

  2. i have heard of this but never seen it, it is likely some one kept putting her face in her p**p as punishment, now she is doing what she was taught...when you take her for her poo walks make sure she knows she is not to even sniff it..

  3. There's not a lot to do to fix that. my dog (that died a few years ago) did that toward the end. my vet said that its b/c there's something missing in the diet. Dogs sense of smell is so much stronger than humans. They smell the food that they ate through the f***s. So they turn around and re-eat it. Gross? Yeah....but they all do it at some point. The vets office can give you something to spray on the food that will keep the smell down to a minimum and not be so appealing.

    Hope this helps. good luck!

  4. He may not be digesting his food very well. If dogs smell undigested food in thier poo, they may eat it. (not all dogs but some)

  5. The dog may not be getting all of the nutrients from the food you are feeding him. Sometimes an animal can digest their food too fast and the nutrients are not getting absorbed. However there are many reasons as to why your dog may be doing this check out this website, it should help a lot. Good luck!

  6. As disgusting as it may sound the p**p has leftover nutrients. The dog is extracting them from its stool not processed first time. As the poster above said "lacking something in the diet."

I also know for a fact:  If it is not eating  its own it may eat it from a strangers dog.

  7. I asked my vet that same question a number of years ago because i had benji mutt that did the same thing. He told me it was because he was lacking something in his diet. Changed to better food with better ingredients and it worked.

  8. It's odd that this behavior just started after 9 years.  It's so odd that a trip to the vet is in order.  There may be something physically wrong with your dog, and she is trying to solve some physical problem by eating p**p.  There are still nutrients in p**p, and your dog may be trying to get those nutrients.

  9. maby its hungry !!
