I just started treating my dog for fleas as he had had them for almost a month now and I was also doing the furniture and bedding... and I went to do my cat and I looked him over. No fleas! I looked on his back, his neck, his sides, his tail. I moved his fur around and looked in his fur and on his skin. No fleas! Why is this?

  1. Your cat might not have as many or you dont have an outbreak of them just yet.

Its best to put flea prevention on your cat as well as your dog to prevent an infestation.

Treating your yard and your house will keep the numbers down also.

I have both my dog and cat on flea prevention. My house and yard are treated, and I vacume every single day and my pets still will get fleas.

It depends on where you live on how bad it will be.

  2. Well some time's dogs and cats have different fleas and even know that the cat doesn't have fleas you can still treat them with flea medicine so they wont get fleas

    Hope I Helped

  3. If your cat is an indoor one.  Please think for a few seconds.  The longer answer is, your dog probably goes places your cat doesn't. These places have fleas and the area around your house doesn't. If the area around your house has fleas and your cat is an outdoor cat, it has fleas, you just couldn't find them.

  4. they are cleaner because they spend a majority of the day grooming themselves.
