Question:

Why does my driving instructor keep doing this?

I live in NYC in the Bronx. My road test is next Wednesday the 16th. I only had time to sign up for 10 driving lessons (I just need the DL for my EMT job, not that I will be driving an ambulance but just in case the driver is injured and I have to drive back, that's all).

I had 5 with one instructor who only wrote on my report card ONCE, he also made you do too much in one lesson. Right turn, left turn, broken U turn, parking.

Now I have another 5 with a new instructor, he's a little strict compared to the other one and he writes in the report card for each lesson unlike the other guy. So, we did 3 lessons out of 5 so far and for everything he keeps on writing NI (Needs Improvement). There's Fair (lowest), NI, Improved, and Satisfactory (highest). Although he keeps writing NI, he's telling me I'm getting the hang of it and doing better than before, but still, it's my 3rd already, if you feel i'm doing such a good job, can't you just write Improved at least? This makes me nervous now

  1. They are only doing their job and everyone thinks that he or she can drive the correct way but that little mistake could cost you your life of the life of someone else, just keep working on it and you soon find out what he is talking about and good luck.

  2. Could be one of two reasons. 1) He's a stickler compared to the original instructor. Nothing wrong with this here. You might not be happy now, but he's actually helping you to become a better driver by being critical of your driving. 2) Maybe you're not that good of a driver. Perhaps you really do need improvement in turning, u-turns and parking. Or it could be a combination of the two.

  3. Some people are like that.. you cant just change them.... But you no need to worry..! everything will be alright.. just wait.. & see... !!
