Question:

Why does my dryer's thermal fuse keeps dying?

I replaced the thermal fuse in my dryer a month ago - The dryer worked fine for a month, and then once again the fuse seems to have blown out, The dryer works as expected, except there is no heat. Is there a reason why the fuse would blow twice in a month? Is there another problem that i should investigate? It's a major chore to, get at, and replace the fuse and don't want to have to do this every few months.

  1. You could be drawing too much current through your heating element blowing that fuse.  If there is too much lint buildup  the dryer will overheat possibly blowing that fuse.

  2. Check all of the wires for bad connections / burned connections.  These put the current way too high for the thermal to handle.

  3. Check for connection problems in the 200v outlet. TURN OFF THE POWER when working on the outlet

  4. HELLO!!!!!! the t.fuse blows cause of these reasons:

    1) Venting tube clogged

    2) Bad thermostat in unit

    3) Heater coil is grounding out, causing it stay on

    4) Lint build up on blower blade/ or  / blade broken

  5. you use dryer sheets take the lint screen and clean it with soap and water you cant see it but dryer sheets put an invisable film over the lint screen that builds up heat and blows your thermal fuse
