Why does my dryer sometimes leave black marks on the tips of my dress shirt collars?

Doesn't happen all the time; I can usually scrub off the mark with toothpaste and a brush. I'm guessing it's getting caught somehow, but where? And how can I keep it from ruining my shirts?

  1. It may be dirt, it may be fuzz, or it may be catching and putting little burns from the heat.  You can buy special shirt bags at Wal-Mart that hold a few shirts and are about $5.  I think they're made by Tide in the laundry aisle.  The package is orange and about the size of a CD.  I use them for bras and nylons, but they'd keep your shirts from getting stuck/collecting dirt or fuzz.
