Our internet provider is SBC and we has dsl through them. It works fine until somebody calls or we pick up the phone. When either of these does happen our internet cuts out until phone is hung up. Does anyody know why this is happening or how we can fix it?

  1. Are you using a filter device that plugs into the phone jack line? You should have one on any line that has a phone connected to it. You can pick them up at any Radio Shack.

  2. If you haven't called SBC yet, you should do so.  It could be something like an issue with something in your demarc box (the telephone box outside your house). Do you have filters on all of your phones? They look like this:

And are plugged into your phone jacks and your phones plug into them instead of the wall jack.  You can buy these at Radio Shack, probably even wal-mart.
