Question:

Why does my ear hurt so bad?

Is it a bad sign that my ear hurts after talking on my home phone for an hour and a half. Is it harmful? Or is it just because of the sound of my friends voice pressed up against my ear for so long? It happens often when I talk for more than an hour. I know it's normal but is it bad? Thanks :)

  1. It is not normal for your ear to be hurting after talking on the phone for over an hour. I have talked longer (over two hours to be exact) and never once have my ear hurt. Therefore I suggest that you go to the doctor immediately. The sooner you go to the doctor the better it is for you in the long run. Sometimes when we delay in going to the doctor it can make the problem worst.

  2. If you do it all the time then it can hurt your hearing. Is it the outter or inner part that bothers you? If you email each other than it wouldn't hurt your ears.

  3. How often are you on the phone that long? My ear doesn't hurt after long phone conversations, but then again, I don't usually do it.

  4. home phones are safer than mobile phones it maybe your ears have to much wax and need to be syringed out if not you have a infection see your doctor on monday or call the emergency doctor who is on call.
