Why does my eye makeup always end up under my eyes?

It sucks how I always have gross black smudges underneath my eyes an hour after i put on my eye makeup... i'm not sure if it's because of my eyeliner or mascara... but i have used both waterproof eyeliner and mascara.....

does anyone know how to deal with this problem?? or had anyone experienced the similar problem and managed to figure out some ways??

please don't tell me your favorite brand unless you used to have the same problem...

  1. Do you have oily skin? Maybe that's why. Also do you rub your eyes?

Try using smudge/water proof or a higher end brand. Try switching brands or use an eyeshadow primer and a lash primer to help the product adhere better to your eyelid/lashes

  2. revlon colorstay is really good

  3. Well maybe you're putting too much eyeliner on..

Or too much mascara on your bottom lashes.

My eyeliner always ends up under my eyes after a while but you can't tell that much so it doesn't bother me.

Yeah, try different brands and stuff, check out Superdrug..;]

    ^_~

  4. I used to get black smudges too! ahhhhgg it drove me nuts!

I started dusting some translucent loose powder over my eyes before I started applying any makeup. [I think maybe I just have really oily eyes, er somthing.]

and that seemed to help keep it from smudgeing a little bit longer.

I tried waterproof everything.. didn't work.

my mascara isn't as much as a problem as my eye liner was.

    but then....

I started using High Intensity Pigment eye liner from Loreal Paris.

It's a little pot of eye liner you have to apply with a brush.

it doesn't EVER smudge, not even a bit. But comes off just fine with a little soap and water.

    It helped me a lot.

Also, I carry around loose powder and a brush to dab around my eyes whenever I feel a little oily.

    Hope I helped. =]

    best of luck.

  5. are you having an oily skin?

    that might be the case...

don't use waterproof, use a normal mascara with a not oily eye liner.

Try to put some compact powder under your eyes, it will keep it dry.

  6. This works for me

    :)

    Max Factor Masterpiece Max.

when your done putting on the mascara.

    Let it dry!

Then put a coat of clear mascara on top

    :)

  7. i think with eyeliner its because you blink. and that like clears it away lol.  i know what you mean its a pain in the ****.

erm what i tend to do (might sound vain) is just check on it in a mirror every now and then and if its smudged just wipe it off and reapply.

if you give your eyeliner a quick blast with a hairdryer (to make it go soft) but no too soft it's supposed to stay on for longer =S
