I don't think its a sunburn since it doesn't burn when I touch it. Just red.

  1. Yes! It's normal.

It's just your skin type. Some people turn brown and tan, others turn red. Don't fret! Just take it as it is. I'm sure you're beautiful, red or not!

  2. Are you very light complected?   How your skin reacts to sunlight depends on how much melanin your skin has.  Your skin tone is inherited.  If your ancestors lived in a place with little sunshine for 6 to 8 months of the year, say Ireland, they did not need as much of it and you inherited less tendency for bronze skin.   You are not a freak anymore than a Sudanese Person who inherited lovely ebony skin to handle living closer to the equator.

Use a very high SPF, wear hats and long loose clothes when out between 10 and 4pm.  Reapply your sunscreen often and try to limit your exposure to after 4pm or before 10am.  If being a stunning shade of alabaster is not what your fashion sense dictates try a spray on tan, much better for you than roasting in UV rays like a thanksgiving turkey.
