Why does my female rat keep trying to mount my other female rats? there definately female?

  1. you will seriously know if they arent females!! i have a male and his stuff is massive, and there is no way you can miss it

  3. I think that's not completely uncommon. I think I've heard of it before. It's called lordosis or something. I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about.

  4. gender confusion my female dog thinks she's a male try's to pee like a male and humps female dogs, i thinks it's just something wrong with the brain physiology.

  5. They do that because of dominance, just like dogs or other animals do.  I wouldn't be worried unless it aggitates one of your other rats.

Some humping can be dominance related, but I've noticed my girls like to do this when one is in heat.  If the one being humped kind of arches her butt up and holds her tail to the side, or vibrates her ears quickly, she is probably in heat.  Why the other girls want to hump her.. I don't know.  It's both disturbing and kind of funny, but nothing to worry about.
