Why does my fm radio sound static realy loudly when I walk by it?

  1. Well, maybe. But My thinking on this is that you become an antenna and increase the reception. If your tuning is off slightly, and you have a crummy built-in antenna, you won't notice the fact that you are slightly OFF the frequency. When your body passes by, it picks up the signal (as an antenna would) and that increased ability for reception magnifies the fact that you're not quite ON the frequency - and the station gets static-y.

    That's why i prefer radios with digital read-outs

  2. Putting it very basically, your body is getting between the radio stations transmitting antenna and your radio's receiving antenna. In short, your body is intercepting the radio waves before they can "hit" your radio.
