Why does my foot make a popping sound every time I walk?

Some time back in April I sprained my ankle and I didn't really put a lot of ice on it or anything. I walked on it even when it was hurting. Ever since it healed my foot makes a popping sound. Is this bad? It doesn't hurt but the sound is really annoying.

  1. it probably just healed a little off and now the bone or the tendon is rubbing on another part in your ankle. if the tendon healed tighter than normal, it may snap when you walk. or, the bone could now be grinding on itself.

  2. My foot used to make that sound but only in the morning until I walked around about an hour... I started taking vitamin D pills and it stopped after a few weeks so for me it was probably just my foot cracking

  3. It could be a ligament which is stretched that is making the sound.

When I hurt my kneecap - I had a ligament down the outer side of my thigh which did that.

If it really concerns you, next time you visit the doctor ask about it

If you use chiropractic they may help, mine responded very well to this type of therapy

    Good luck and good health
