Why does my friend always hurt me?

I have had this friend for 12 years and she is always putting me down! She picks me apart always picking my flaws and we all have them but do we really want people picking them out. She mainly does it when were around guys! I don't understand if she is such a friend why does she hurt me and why don't I just stop being friend with here.

sometimes its hard to let a friend go, but if they're doing that speak up or they will just keep doing it...im sure she's just insecure and tries to make herself look better, but if it keeps up, you have got to speak up, otherwise you will just have to live with it, which sucks

it's simple she's not your friend, and she never really was. she used you to make herself feel better and you don't need that. you know the old saying with friends like that you don't need enemies well that's your so called friend to a t take some advice and drop her cause as long as you hang around her she will continue to do this to you

and trying to make you feel bad about yourself so she feels better about herself. And that's wrong.

talk it out and see if she's go enough to keep as a friend

People who feel threatened usually put others down to raise their own self esteem up.

You should talk to her about how you feel and tell her to stop.

If she doesn't...well, you can decide if you still want to be friends with her or not.
