Why does my garage door opener?

only open a little way when I push the button? Then I have to push it again and it goes down a little, I push it again and it goes all the way up. But it always stops the first time. It is only 3 years old, I had it serviced 1 year ago.

sounds to me like you got some kind of obstruction in the track that the chain travels. I had that one time found i had a dirt dobber build a nest in the track caused all kinds of problems till i found it.

You might check those little beams that's on each side of the door, could be  that they need to be cleaned off or moved just a bit. They do have some plastic s***w on the side of the door opener motor  that you can ajust.

The summer time temps could have something to do with it and the torque setting might be too light. The spring above the door might need adjustment to balance the door more. Call a good service company!

The torque limit may be set too low or something to do with the up travel limit setting.
