  1. my fish do that too.  they are scavengers and always looking 4 food.

  2. well your fish may not be hungry. sometimes fish of any species will swim up and down the sides of the tank if there is no place to hide. if i were you i would try adding more decorations and maybe putting the pleco in a different tank.

  3. Goldfish will eat until they literally explode. Do not overfeed them. They will always appear hungry, not matter how often you feed them.

Feed them once a day, and no more than they can completely consume in 5 minutes.

Goldfish do not have real stomachs...the food goes directly to their intestines. If you overfeed them their intestines can get backed up and it will kill them. Aside from that, it will cause a mess in your tank...they produce more waste which decays into ammonia which is toxic to them.

Goldfish can survive on very little food surprisingly well. Anecdotal evidence suggests that underfeeding them actually increases their lifespan. If you can, buy pellets rather than flakes (Koi pellets work as well if you cant find goldfish pellets). Uneaten pellets are less likely to decay in the water and most brands have better nutritional value for goldfish than flake food.

This website below has a lot more information on feeding.

  4. goldfish are eaters just don't overfeed it could die.  feed a little bit to a maximum of three times depend on the filter capacity.  all they do is keep on searching for food.

  5. haha goldfish always do thank and don't be tempted to feed it more! Goldfish are scavengers and always are on the look out for a bite!

  6. Goldfish tend to do that, they are scavengers. Feed them as much food as they can eat in 3-4 mins, taking several flakes (or what ever food you're using) in small amounts and drop them into the tank. You should only feed your fishes once or twice daily. Do not over feed though.
