Why does my guinea pig make that weird noise?

it is like a purr but it really bothers me . is it good or bad?

That is a pleasure sound - satisfacrtion - as when a cat purrs.so be glad your pet does that!

Purring is another way to show affection.  My guinea pig always purrs when i scratch his back and butt  :D  It's nothing to be worried about!

According to the website in my sources, it may either be a purr of pleasure, or depending on your guinea pig and it's surroundings, or it could be a "rumble" "A rumble, which sounds like a purring sound, happens usually when a male piggy is romancing another guinea pig." I'm not sure if this applies in your situation or not. It probably is a purr.

However, just roughly based off your description, your guinea pig may be like my guinea pig who makes a growling noise that sounds a little like purring, but it's pretty loud. He does it If I make drumming noises or pet his fur the wrong way. See if any of these apply to your situation, hope I could help.

Hehe.....mine does that too, does it also sway their hips walk and purr?mine does. It means courtship.

I bet he's a male.I think it's darn cute what they do.Why should it bother you?It's natural, normal and what make a pig a pig!
