  1. I had to comment on what you said about giving her less hay. Guinea pigs should be offered a constant supply of alfalfa (if less than a year old) or timothy hay. It keeps their digestive track moving similar to a horse grazing. It's not healthy to remove fiber from her diet.

What else are you feeding her? A lot of treats/pellets can make her fat. How much exercise is she getting? Guinea pigs should be allowed time outside of their cage to run around and be guinea pigs. If she isn't getting at least 1/2 hour to an hour of "floor time" that could be contributing to her weight issue.

  2. Thats what they do. Guinea pigs are high pitched squeaky animals. Its how they communicate. My grandmother would watch her class' pet GPs over the summer and I HATED listening to them all night long. Its natural not thing to be done about it unless you plan to give her away.

  3. It could be scared. Was there a loud sound that could scare it? It might not be scared though it could be board or just squeeking like people just talk sometimes. Try putting a card board tube it its cage to chew on and play with.

  4. Guinea pig noises can mean a lot of different things. Here is a website that helps you tell the difference between them. I thought that it was very interesting. Her calls can mean that she wants food or that she is just lonely.

  5. She just wants attention!!........my guinea pig does that....she just wants you to play with her.

  6. she just wants attention they squeak to find mates sometimes too. But they do it like us talking its nothing to worry about its natural

  7. It means she wants attention they like it when you sit with them and pet them

  8. Just looking for attention! It's normal that they squeak like that. They are such sweet pets.
