  1. Guinea pigs are very vocal.  They make different sounds - whistles or wheeks when they want attention or food, purrs when content (eg when you scratch the rigth spot!)  Just give your piggies lots of gentle cuddles, keep them healthy with timothy hay and fresh water.  It sounds like it might be a bit anxious - just be very gentle and talk to it while you pet it .They like to hear sounds.  Our guy likes it when the radio is on, or the phone rings...

  2. that is the way they are they whistle when they want or like something

  3. Guinea pigs do this when they are scared or feel threatened, but they also whistle for attention or food. Yours probably aren't used to you. What you can do is talk to them in a low voice and gently pet them before picking them up. This will reassure them that you aren't trying to hurt them.

  4. He is probably very scared, once you get him picked up (make sure and use both hands so he don't feel like he's falling!) use a blanket to cuddle him in. It may give him extra security. And maybe feed him a treat while you are holding him, so he looks forward to being picked up! Hope this helped!

  5. the punkin is just a little scared and he's trying to tell you.  Hold his hind quarters with one hand and the second hand under his armpits so he doesn't feel he's about to fall it is in their nature to be afraid of the falling feeling due to where they naturally are.

  6. Maybe it likes to whistle or it does not want you picking it up and does not want the other hamster near it.
