Why does my hair turn out black every time I dye it light brown?

I follow all the box instructions; I put it in the exact amount of time, I use the whole bottle (even though I have shorter hair), yet EVERY time my hair turns out almost black.. WHAT AM i DOING WRONG?

  1. since your wanting to go from dark to lighter, you need to go to a hair salon and tell them the color you want and they will almost bleach your hair to make it light brown

  3. because your hair is unhealthy and damaged...which means the shaft is not smooth and healthy....which means the color is just soaking in and the shaft can not pick up the color properly...which means you can't do home color anymore until it grows out. In order to fix you need to got to a colorist and have them fix it. Leave it alone. The more you continue to do this, the more damage your doing.  

  4. It probably only looks black to you but other people can see the brown

    and it may be because of your color you already have on your hair .

    Go to a salon
