I got a roborovski dwarf hamster at petco about 4 days ago and after yesterdays earthquake here in CA, he started twirling around in the same place for hours. Has anyone had this happen?

  1. perhaps because it's in a hamster ball?

    LOL

  2. did it get hurt in the earthquake, fall or hit its head or have something fall on it? Maybe it's scared and you can just hold it for a while and see if it calms down.

  3. Because what else does it have to do? After all its a dwarf! Do you know any short people who have fun being their size? I DIDN`T THINK SO!! lol No the truth is that your hamster is retarded.

  4. Not to scare you but my hamster did this once becuase it had a pulled neck muscle.

Another hamster of mine did this because it was blind in one eye.

This could also be totally normal....Maybe he's just playing . I hope he is! :)

  5. Animals understand natural disasters in their own language. Even fishes are known to get very disturbed when a earthquake is about to happen or has happened. Probably he is just a bit stressed out because his natural instinct sounded danger to him. Give him some time and he should be alright and normal. You can relieve his stress a bit by feeding him some treats and keeping him in a dim peaceful place, other than that, he should be fine on his own soon.

  6. mine did that too, and I took her to the doctor. She had a tumour. Yours may suffer from a brainconcusion ( sorry for the misspelling)
