Why does my home phone suddenly ring quietly?

I have a phone attached to the wall in my kitchen. I don't nkow for sure, but I think it's getting power through the telephone line (connections are on the wall side of the phone). This phone used to ring nice and loudly. But all of a sudden it rings super quietly, like a whisper. Any ideas why?

All the other phones in the house ring nice and loud.

If it's a traditional phone (with the bell) you could have a short in your line so it's not getting enough juice to power the ringer.

somehow you turned the ring volume down.

Ringer could be going bad in it, or somehow you turned the ringer volume down...

Try unplugging it, and plugging it back in....
