Why does my home reciever get hot when i push alot of speakers?

i have 6 200 watt subs and 7 5" speakers

  1. The flow of electricity encounters resistance within the components inside the receiver which translates to a release of heat.

    Don't worry, it's normal, if it starts to smoke, THATS when you should worry.


  2. Whenever you push LOT OF POWER through electronics, they will get hot.  

    It is simple as that.

  3. i dont know a lot about home receivers but i kno car receivers

    are rated to push 50w x 4 or 18 x 2 ect......

    if you put 6 speakers on a receiver thats rated to push 4 it will overwork it...my guess is youre asking the receiver for more than its capable of handling
