Why does my house phone get static when it is near my desktop computer? How do I fix it?

When ever I try to talk to someone on my house phone when I am near my desktop PC, my phone is really staticy. How can I fix this? Thanks!

  1. Well it depends... If you're using a cordless phone, it could be receiving interference from a wireless component on your computer that is operating on the same frequency. You might try purchasing a cordless phone operating a different frequency than your current phone. If the phone is not cordless, then it might have something to do with cables or components on your computer that aren't magnetically shielded. These are just suggestions as to what might be causing the interference, properly diagnosing a problem like this is difficult to do with out being physically there.
