Question:

Why does my iPod skip songs when I try playing them?

I have a 30 GB iPod video (5th gen) and it keeps skipping songs. I'll select a song from an album and it'll skip through every song on that album and then return to the main menu.

Also, when it skips songs the album artwork is different for each song, and they don't even match with the artist.

An example of the above: I picked the first song from the Donnie Darko soundtrack, and the album art was of the Uplift m**o Party Plan (on my computer it shows the correct Donnie Darko artwork) and as it skips through the songs it goes from that to the artwork from a Radiohead CD.

The only music that seems to fully play is anything I bought from the iTunes store.

I've tried restarting my iPod and that didn't work. What should I try next? I'm currently in the process of restoring my iPod.

  2. Songs or albums downloaded illegally (for free) usually tend to that. You need to use legal music from iTunes.

  3. Needs batteries.

  4. this happened to me a few days ago. i started thinking well.. maybe it's time to buy a new one but then i connected it to my computer to sync it and it was ok.

  5. Do you have it on shuffle?

  6. Restoring it should do it. But for some reason it doesnt work there could be something wrong internaly from the IPOD. If this happens go to the store where you purchased your IPOD and tell them. (They probably wont know what to do ) But they will send it to (Im not sure where) and they will fix it for you if you. Best of luck!
