  1. you need to reset the ipod (centre and menu keys until screen blanks) then connect to your computer with itunes running when the apple lights up then check update when connected to internet. or if nothing happens then select restore.

it only switches off when the battery is dead, if it does this on half battery on the display then the display is wrong or the battery id knackered or the driver didn't load properly.

if after the update/restore it still does same thing then your battery is fried and needs replacing - take it to an apple retailer for a fixed price replacement (from £30 to £50 depending on model)

  2. Chances are that your battery is shot.

You'll have to get a new one ou can check with apple to see if its covered in your warranty.

The only thing that can bring this on is if your charging it too much. Only charge your ipod when its in the red or dead. It will make your battery last longer. The other way of depleting your battery is if you use it alot. Pretty much everyday, for hours everyday.

  3. probalblt time for a new one

  4. no battery? mine does the same thing but it only does it when its been used for a long time so i would assume it has no battery left.
