Why does my internet explorer 7 open a new window from my own home page instead of a tab?

i use vista x64, have my own home page that i created with html. it has links and a search bar. the search bar on the page and the search bar built in to ie7 open a new window instead of a tab. thankx

1) it's IE

2) check your links, make sure they aren't set to open a new window.

3) click the link with your scroll wheel on your mouse, it will open a new tap instead of a window.

4) Use Firefox.

Is it possible you have the IE7 tabbing options set to open a new link in a new window instead of in a new tab?  (Tools, Internet Options then Settings under Tabs, and look towards the bottom.)

If this isn't it, then try using Firefox to see if the same problem occurs.  If it does, then the problem is in your html code.  If not, have to take a closer look at the IE settings.
