Why does my ipod touch battery go down when its off?

I turned off wifi and the brightness. I turned off asked to join networks and I haven't upgraded to 2.0! What's wrong with it? I charge it for like a whole day, and then leave it off, but when I got use it there's no battery.

if you just click the power button and dont hold it to turn it off completely it is using battery to hold the place where you turned it off. You should hold the power button until a slider bar at the top shows up and slide it to turn it off completely. It should say shut down and after that it shouldn't waste battery.

maybe you left the music playing in the background make sure it not playing
