  1. lol i have the same problem annoying eh,just keep bags well away i worry she may get some in her throat an choke, buy some catnip and rub on the scratch post it will attract her there and hopefully work for you too.

  2. It wont use it's scratch post?  Welcome to owning a Cat...

We have 5 cats, of which only 1 has ever used the scratch post that was bought for them.  The others use, walls, door frames, sofas, legs of people sleeping.

Some cats don't like the feel of scratch post so it's possible thats what is wrong with your cat.  Of course it's also possible that your cat is just doing it to spite you..

  3. Good luck!  I've never had a cat who would use a scratching post and haven't bought 1 in years.  Guess they could have improved over the years, who knows?

  4. Primark paper bags are best. Our cats go nuts in them, it's really funny watching!

  5. Cat have preferences for the texture of things they enjoy scratching.  Most cats prefer to scratch things with a vertical grain, and a lot of cats don't like sisal posts because the thread is horizontal and their claws can get snagged.  Our male cat uses his sisal scratch post and a wooden log, but our female cat will only scratch sheets of corrugated cardboard.  Try attaching carrier bags to the post or offering your cat a few alternatives to see if you can find something she likes.  Trail string or toys over the item so that she has to grab for it with her claws to encourage her to use it and give her food treats and lots of praise when she does.  Once she has scratched something a few times it will have her claw scent on it, and this will encourage her to continue scratching in the same place.

    Hope this helps.

  6. they like carriers my cats like them. just pick her up and hold her paws agains the scratching post to get her used to what to do.my 2 use their post all the time.

  7. Your what??!! Kitten? Cat? because its more fun for them!!!

  8. Put the carrier bags away in a cupboard or something so she can't get at them. She probably doesn't use the scratching post because she is not comfortable with it. You should play with your cat around the scratching post, if you can get them to start scratching it during play then she should start using it eventually.
