  1. He swallowed a cat.


  2. They usually do that when they sleep, or they are emotionally confused/challenged. If your dog is awake and he makes that sound, he wants something. Like to go outside to go to the bathroom or "take me for a walk", or "feed me" or "give me attention".

  3. I guess he's happy.  Mine doesn't purr, but he snores really loud.
