Why does my lawnmower push out alot of white smoke when it gets hot?

every time i get out to mow after like 30mins it starts to smoke white it smells like burnt oil and then it will die but it will start right back up i don't know what to do

Check your oil level to make sure it hasn't been overfilled.

Well Devin, I don't know how old your lawnmower is but it sounds as if the cylinder is worn.  When the engine is cold the metal cylinder is contracted and the piston rings seal properly.  After the engine heats up the cylinder expands and allows oil to "blow by" the piston rings into the combustion chamber.

Sounds to me as if you need to replace the mower.

You are burning oil.  Keep adding oil and check it every time you use your mower.  If you let it run dry your motor will fry.  Start saving money now for another mower.  I usually buy them used for a fraction of the price.  The used mower shop usually gives me a little trade in credit on my dead mower.

Make sure that it doesn't have too much oil in it.  Never fill it above the full mark on the dipstick.  As the oil get hot and expands it could be pushed out through the crankcase vent into the air filter area.  Check your air filter for oil also.
