Why does my little sister eat her b00gers?

I think its gross and nasty and she wont stop. She even eats the watery and gooey ones. I mean anything that comes out of her nose she will eat. One time she tried one of those blood boogers. She didnt like it but i mean who would actually try it. So how can i stop her?

I am a teacher who teaches Kindergarten through 8th grade.. I see 250 kids a day and you can imagine how many sit right in class picking and eating their boogers!!! YUCK! and it used to super gross me out.. but, now I've realized why they do it..

It's a natural and biological function.. see, when they are young, they have a very small immune system because they haven't yet been exposed to the multitude of germs in the world.. their body craves the boogers because that way they introduce the germs to their body, thus boosting their immune system.

It's still gross, but it helps when you realize why they do it and that their body actually tells them too!

Try ignoring her when she does it, or tell her you get worms from eating it, by the way the worm thing is fact not fallacy.

lol, You can try pepper spraying her fingers so while she is putting the boogers in her mouth it will take effect. That will also teach her not to suck her thumb.

tell her if she continue to eat boogers will she get worms or something in her stomach and will cause her to get very sick.

haha i donno be creative think of something especially if shes little they believe anything!

its a phase shes going through where she will eat anything my cousin is doing the same thing shes like 3 1/2
